2023 is About Changing Habits
Have you ever asked yourself,
“Why do I keep doing this?!?!?!”
As we enter 2023, we can find ourselves reflecting on the past. And some of those reflections aren’t pretty.
That dysfunctional relationship we keep finding ourselves in… The indecision we agonize over and over and over again…
The want to change but not knowing where to start…
We cast harsh judgments on ourselves when we are feeling worn out with our own repetitive patterns. We become tired of continuing the same behavior that never serves us. This can leave us feeling stuck and hopeless.
But what if we change our perception?
The reality is, we create habits in order to function. Our daily lives consist of countless habits. From the manner in which we brush our teeth, down to the ways we avoid discomfort…it’s all habitual.
What if the key to a better life is as simple as changing a habit?
As we all know, changing a habit really isn’t as simple as it sounds; but, if we change our perception, we are one step closer to finding our lives more manageable. And we can work with that.
So in 2023, what habit do you want to change? Do you want closer relationships? More authenticity in your life? More patience with your kids? Then start by changing one habit. Answer the phone calls you typically ignore. Stop saying “yes” when you really mean “no.” Remember the sweetness of your children when your temper is flaring. Changing one habit at a time can trigger a cascade of other positive habits to follow.
So pick one thing you want to improve, set a goal, and be so dedicated to it that you refuse to waiver.
